• The morning at Nagarkot was magical—the clouds parted to reveal the Himalayas. We hiked to the Nagarkot Suspension Bridge and later visited Doleshwar Mahadev Temple during the Teej Festival. Women in red danced and sang in devotion, and I joined them, feeling the joyous energy.

🌉 Travel Note: Nagarkot Suspension Bridge

360m long, high above a lush valley, connecting two villages.

✨ Reflection: Crossing the bridge, I felt suspended between worlds—earth and sky, human and divine.

🕉 Travel Note: Doleshwar Mahadev Temple

Believed to be the missing head of Kedarnath.

✨ Reflection: Witnessing Teej celebrations, I realized devotion can be both discipline and joy.

    Reflection of the Day:

Joy is contagious. Today reminded me that the best prayer is sometimes to lose yourself in devotion and celebration.

  • We woke early to visit Pashupatinath Temple, where 12 priests performed Rudrabhishekam. Later, we visited Guhyeshwari Mata Temple and explored Patan Durbar Square before heading to Nagarkot, where the sunset welcomed us.

    🌿 Travel Note: Pashupatinath Temple

One of the holiest Shiva temples, on the banks of the Bagmati River. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it attracts thousands of pilgrims and sadhus.

✨ Reflection: Walking through its ancient pathways, I felt both small and deeply connected.

🌸 Travel Note: Guhyeshwari Mata Temple

A revered Shakti Peeth, where Goddess Sati’s secret part (guhya) fell.

✨ Reflection: Praying here, I felt the union of Shiva and Shakti—strength and grace guiding the soul.

    Reflection of the Day:

Rituals performed with devotion create an unshakable peace. Surrendering to the divine brings strength no matter how uncertain the path ahead feels.

  • We are a couple from Hyderabad, stepping into our 60s, with hearts full of faith and dreams still waiting to be lived. This journey to Mount Kailash and Manasa Sarovar has been close to our hearts for many years — especially for Eswara, who has long dreamt of standing before the mighty Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva.

After a year of waiting, preparing, and praying (and a few health hurdles along the way), we are finally setting off. For us, this is more than just a pilgrimage — it is a journey of love, resilience, and devotion.

We named this blog “Hand in Hand to the Himalayas – To Follow Our Dreams: Mount Kailash, Here We Come 🙏” because this adventure is something we walk together, step by step, hand in hand.

Here, we’ll be sharing our travel diary — not just the places we see, but also the emotions, prayers, and reflections that come along the way. We hope that someday when we look back, these words will remind us of every divine moment, and maybe inspire someone else to follow their own dream to the Himalayas.

Come, walk with us as we begin our journey…
